University of Scouting

If you’ve signed up for the University of Scouting and are travelling with the group, please be at the church by 05:45 so that we can leave by 06:00. We need to be in Gainesville as close to 07:30 as we can.

  • Make sure to eat breakfast!
  • Bring paper & pencil.
  • Bring a small pack to carry papers, etc.
  • It’s scheduled to last until 17:00 (5:00 PM) so bring a few extra bucks for a snack on the way home.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Alright Scouts.. The Village Church is holding their annual Souper Bowl of Caring the next two Sundays. They are collecting Soup: canned soup, boxed soup, soup mixes, noodles for soup etc, as well as cash donations for Second Harvest food bank.

There will be two containers to place your donations into: The GIANTS or the PATRIOTS.

So I figured let’s do a little competition between the Patrols. For the Patrol that brings in the most canned food items on 26th, gets to pick which container to place all the donations into. We will do it again on the 2nd. So you have two chances to win, but the ultimate winner will be the food bank.

Committee and PLC Tonight!

Just a reminder that we have both Committee and Patrol Leader’s Council meetings tonight at 7pm at the church.

All PLC members should be in attendance!

Busy Troop Meeting Tomorrow!

We’re going to have a busy meeting tomorrow (1/11/2012)! We’ll have Webelos visiting from Pack 11, so let’s show them how 875 does things. Order of the Arrow representatives will also be there holding elections for the OA.

The Order of the Arrow membership requirements are:

  • Be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America.
  • After registration with a troop or team, have experienced 15 days and nights of Boy Scout camping during the two-year period prior to the election.  The 15 days and nights must include one, but no more than one, long-term camp consisting of six consecutive days and five nights of resident camping, approved and under the auspices and standards of the Boy Scouts of America.  The balance of the camping must be overnight, weekend, or other short-term camps.
  • Youth must be under the age of 21, hold the BSA First Class rank or higher, and following approval by the Scoutmaster or Varsity team Coach, be elected by the youth members of their troop or team.

Hayden’s Wagon of Love

We will be collecting “New” stuffed animals, coloring books & crayons, games (for all ages) to take to Wolfson’s Children’s hospital.  Please see the attachment for details.

If you want to participate, we are collecting these items on Thursday and Saturday.

Board of Review assistance needed.

We have at least one BoR scheduled for this Thursday 12/15, but with the busy holiday season we’re short on committee members to run it. If anyone can be at the Troop meeting to sit in for one or two boards, it would be greatly appreciated!

You must be a registered committee member. If you haven’t done one before, we’ll get you some info to help familiarize you.
